[ÀÚ·á] Any Given Day - OC Supertones

Any Given Day

Inspired by the praise portion of the OC Supertones concerts
Andy Bray & Jason Carson

Quote from the album cover: " I have desired the priveledge of doing a worship album for over 2 years now. We (The OC Supertones) always have a time of worship at our concerts near the end of our set. That time is my favorite thing about being in a band. It takes all the attention off us and puts it where it belongs: on our wonderful Creator! We have received so much feedback from fans saying that this was their favorite time of any concert they had ever been to! We have also heard that they've never experienced worship like that all their life. I wanted to make a worship album with that same passion and intensity, so I called one of my closest friends, Andy Bray, who is the best young worship leader I know. He has led many times of worship for the brotherhood that I will never forget. I hope this album will bless you as you apply the greatest commandment of worshipping and loving the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.

Because He's Worthy,
Jason Carson of the OC Supertones

ANY GIVEN DAY
Any Given Day (CD/cas) BEC (BEC # 27)

The Christian ska movement of recent years has been paradoxically both
refreshingly original and teeth-grindingly derivative at the same time. One
of the leading bands of the genre has been the O.C. Supertones whose sound
has never been matched (unless of course you've heard the Mighty Mighty
Bosstones!). Anyway, derivation dilemmas aside, they have built up a strong
following stateside and have a habit of finishing concerts with a time of
worship, which brings us to this album. Drummer Jason Carson and bassist
Tony Terusa from the band team up with worship leader Andy Bray and a few
other friends to lay down an album of worship classics which is actually
quite appealing in it's simplicity and familiarity. Some of the most
well-known songs include 'Light The Fire Again', 'Spirit Of The Living God'
and 'Holy And Anointed One'. The only nod of the head I could find in the
Supertones direction is a mild reggae flavour to 'Lord I Lift Your Name On
High'. This is not a 'ska-worship' album in the style of the Insyderz, it's
just a straightforward collection of songs for church with simple,
unembellished arrangements.
